Project Overview
Cerner's long-standing history in the healthcare industry led to technical and design debt accumulation. Over the course of 30+ years, multiple tech stacks, and numerous acquisitions, the product landscape became fragmented. We found ourselves managing over 300 product SKUs, each with its own visual identity, interaction patterns, and architecture. This inconsistency created confusion for users, increased development time, and made it difficult to scale new features efficiently.
My Role
Our Goal: Deliver a consumer-grade product experience within enterprise healthcare IT that is built on Cerner's System-of-System Design System to improve usability, increase efficiency, and enhance patient safety. Role in Project: Served as the design lead accountable for the overall program and vision of Cerner’s enterprise‑wide UI overhaul. Directed the creative execution of the UI, providing art direction to designers, and ensuring the system’s vision translated seamlessly into scalable, code‑ready solutions.
