Cerner was one of the largest healthcare IT companies in the world, with over 27,000 provider facilities, operating in 35 countries, and offering more than 300+ products. However, beneath that scale, the user experience was becoming fragmented.
Two decades of organic growth, acquisitions, and evolving technology strategies had resulted in a portfolio built on:

7 different legacy design frameworks

No shared visual language

No unified component library

No scalable goverance

Each team working in isolation

The True Cost was on Both Sides

Clinicians faced inconsistent interfaces that increased cognitive load and created friction in workflows where speed and accuracy directly impact patient safety.

The business couldn't deliver cohesive cross-product experiences or advance the platform without worsening the inconsistency.

Unify an enterprise ecosystem of 300+ products into a coherent, consumer-grade experience, built on a scalable system-of-systems design architecture.

I led the vision, creative direction, and cross-functional execution of Cerner’s enterprise-wide UI modernization.

Setting the strategic direction for how 300+ products would evolve toward a unified visual and interaction language

Aligning product, design, and engineering leadership around a shared modernization strategy and scalable governance framework

Directing the creative and technical vision to ensure the new system delivered consumer-grade quality at enterprise scale
